Ten Thousand Villages State College is a
LOCAL non-profit with a GLOBAL Vision

Ten Thousand Villages’ ethical artisan investment model puts the maker first. Every aspect of this model is designed to give artisans opportunities to gain a safety net of financial stability and escape the cycle of poverty. We empower artisans via a commitment to fair wage pricing, interest-free microfinance investments, strong partnerships, and full payment before export.

We recently had to close our store at 1341 S Atherton Street, but we are still actively selling fair-trade merchandise at Belle Mercantile (135 S Spring St, Bellefonte, PA 16823). There you’ll find jewelry, clothing, kitchen and other household accessories, gifts, items for children and pets, food, greeting cards, and much more. You can also find us at pop-ups and holiday sales throughout the year.

Locally, Ten Thousand Villages seeks to increase local appreciation for international cultures by bringing more unique handicrafts to the community and sharing the stories of our artisans’ lives.
